Repair an Attic or Whole House Fan in 28215
Why hired? : the lifetime warranty. I could have others to do this for about $100 less but without the same warranty. Because the motor wears out every 5-6 years I went with Fan Man. I felt the estimate was "padded " an extra $50 for a line item called "blocking 15 feet of the nearest ridge vent". This effort only took maybe 10 minutes and the materials used couldn't have cost more than $7. I signed the estimate but at the time I did not know enough to complain.

I could only find one company that specialized in the replacement of atic fans. I needed two. The cost was $1,050 for two. I needed the Fan Man to return twice for noise problems. One fan had a loose thermostat cover. The other fan had to be replaced entirely. The company was responsive to my noise problems. So far so good.
